Names, Trademarks & Real People Policy

Effective {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}. Part of the IDOL CLUB Terms of Service.

Every group, fandom and idol in IDOL CLUB is fictional. Names or logos that match a real band, artist, label, brand or person are not allowed, and we can change them at any time, without the usual cooldown or cost.

1. IDOL CLUB is fiction

2. Not allowed

These rules cover player names, idol and stage names, group names, fandom names, song titles, logos, banners and room decorations.

An everyday word that happens to be a real group's name may be allowed when it is clearly not presented as that group. We still decide case by case, and a valid rights-holder complaint wins.

3. Your idol's look

You may take inspiration from styles and trends. You may not build an idol that copies a real person's name and look so that others could take it for that person.

4. You do not own a name

Choosing a name gives you no ownership, trademark or exclusive right to it, in IDOL CLUB or anywhere else. We may reserve, block or reclaim names, including names of inactive accounts.

5. How we enforce

6. For rights holders

Send complaints to {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}} with:

  1. Your name or your organisation's name and how to reach you.
  2. The name, mark or person concerned and proof of your rights, such as a registration number, an official page or proof that you represent the person.
  3. The in-game name, group name or player ID and where you saw it.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that your complaint is accurate.

We confirm receipt and usually decide within 5 business days.

7. Our own content

If a name or character created by IDOL CLUB, such as a non-player group on the in-game chart, matches a real person or group, tell us at {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}} and we will change it.
