Copyright, Music & Speaker Policy

Effective {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}. Part of the IDOL CLUB Terms of Service.

You may only play, upload or show content you own or have permission to use. IDOL CLUB gives you no music licence, does not store what your speaker plays, and acts quickly when a rights holder tells us about infringement.

1. Who is responsible for what

IDOL CLUB provides tools. The names, logos, choreographies, decorations, chat and audio that players create or play are theirs, and so is the responsibility for them. We do not choose, edit, review in advance or recommend player audio.

2. The room speaker

2.1 What it does. The speaker lets the owner of a room play an audio file from their own device so that players who are in the same room at that moment can hear it live.

2.2 How it works. The audio is read from your device and relayed automatically, in real time, to the devices of listeners in the room. We keep no copy on our servers beyond the short-lived buffering needed to deliver it. Listeners cannot download, record or replay it. The stream ends when you stop it, leave the room or the room closes.

2.3 Your promises. Before your first broadcast, and each time you use the speaker, you confirm that:

  1. You own all rights in the audio, or the rights holder allows you to play it to other people. Examples: your own recordings and compositions, audio under a licence that allows public performance and online sharing, or music from the IDOL CLUB in-game library.
  2. You understand that buying a song, downloading it or paying for a streaming subscription usually allows only private listening and does not allow you to play it to other people.
  3. You did not copy the audio from a streaming service, video site or other source in breach of its terms, and you did not remove any copy protection.
  4. The audio is not sexual, hateful, violent, threatening or otherwise against the Community Guidelines.
  5. You are solely responsible for what you play, and you will cover IDOL CLUB's costs if a claim is made against us because of it (see Indemnity in the Terms of Service).

2.4 Limits we set. To protect players and rights holders we may, at any time and without notice:

2.5 What we record. To handle reports and claims we log basic facts about each broadcast: who played, in which room, when, for how long, the track title and length read from the file, and a technical fingerprint of the audio. We do not keep the audio itself. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

2.6 No licence from us. IDOL CLUB has no licence from record labels, music publishers or collecting societies that covers what players play. Nothing in IDOL CLUB gives you permission to play someone else's music.

2.7 Younger players. Players under 13, or under the higher age set for their country, cannot broadcast with the speaker and do not hear other players' speaker audio.

3. Everything else you create

The same rule applies to group and fandom names, idol names, logos, banners, choreographies, room designs and chat: create your own, or use only what you have permission to use.

4. Reporting infringement (notice and takedown)

Send notices to our designated agent: {{DMCA_AGENT}}, {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}}. A notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the rights holder or someone authorised to act for them.
  2. The work you say is infringed.
  3. Where it appears in IDOL CLUB, precisely enough for us to find it: the player name or player ID, group name, room or invite code, and the date and time.
  4. Your name, address, phone number and email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the rights holder.

Live speaker audio is not stored, so there is usually nothing to delete. We act on the player instead: we stop the broadcast, apply a strike and, where needed, lock the speaker or the account. Anyone, anywhere, can also report illegal content in the game or through {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}}; we confirm receipt, decide without undue delay and tell both sides what we decided and why. Knowingly false notices can make the sender liable for damages.

5. Counter-notice

If you believe content was removed or a strike was given by mistake, send a counter-notice to {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}} with:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. What was removed or restricted, and where it was before.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you live outside the United States, any judicial district in which IDOL CLUB may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice.

We forward the counter-notice to the claimant. We may restore the content or lift the strike 10 to 14 business days later unless the claimant tells us they have started court action.

6. Repeat infringers

Valid notices within 12 monthsWhat happens
