Names, Trademarks & Real People Policy
Effective {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}. Part of the IDOL CLUB Terms of Service.
Every group, fandom and idol in IDOL CLUB is fictional. Names or logos that match a real band, artist, label, brand or person are not allowed, and we can change them at any time, without the usual cooldown or cost.
1. IDOL CLUB is fiction
- All groups, idols, labels, fans, news, charts and rankings in IDOL CLUB are fictional or made by players. Any resemblance to real groups or people is coincidental.
- IDOL CLUB is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any artist, entertainment agency, record label or chart. In-game charts are not real music charts.
- Players choose their own names and logos. We do not approve them in advance. A name appearing in IDOL CLUB does not mean we endorse it or that it is free of anyone else's rights.
2. Not allowed
These rules cover player names, idol and stage names, group names, fandom names, song titles, logos, banners and room decorations.
- Names of real music groups, solo artists, actors, influencers, athletes, politicians or other real people, including close imitations with changed spelling, spacing or symbols.
- Names of entertainment agencies, record labels, brands, products, shows or games.
- Fandom names that real artists use for their fans, when used to point to that artist.
- Logos, emblems or lettering that copy or closely imitate a real logo.
- Names that pretend to be another player, a moderator or IDOL CLUB itself (for example "IDOL CLUB Official" or "Admin").
- Anything offensive under the Community Guidelines.
An everyday word that happens to be a real group's name may be allowed when it is clearly not presented as that group. We still decide case by case, and a valid rights-holder complaint wins.
3. Your idol's look
You may take inspiration from styles and trends. You may not build an idol that copies a real person's name and look so that others could take it for that person.
4. You do not own a name
Choosing a name gives you no ownership, trademark or exclusive right to it, in IDOL CLUB or anywhere else. We may reserve, block or reclaim names, including names of inactive accounts.
5. How we enforce
- An automatic filter blocks known real names and brands when a name is created. We update the list over time, and an update can affect names already in use.
- Players and rights holders can report a name or logo.
- If a name or logo breaks this policy we may hide it, replace it with a neutral placeholder (for example "Group 4821") and remove the logo. You then get one free rename, even inside the normal 15-day cooldown.
- Currency spent on a removed name or logo is not refunded, except where the law requires it or we decide otherwise.
- Deliberate or repeated misuse is handled under the Community Guidelines and can lock naming and logo tools.
6. For rights holders
Send complaints to {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}} with:
- Your name or your organisation's name and how to reach you.
- The name, mark or person concerned and proof of your rights, such as a registration number, an official page or proof that you represent the person.
- The in-game name, group name or player ID and where you saw it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that your complaint is accurate.
We confirm receipt and usually decide within 5 business days.
7. Our own content
If a name or character created by IDOL CLUB, such as a non-player group on the in-game chart, matches a real person or group, tell us at {{COPYRIGHT_EMAIL}} and we will change it.
